3 Easy Steps for Fall Garden Clean Up

Now is the time to spruce up the garden while the weather is still nice.

Follow these three easy steps and you will be set until the early spring.

1. Rake up the leaves and other debris. Bag them for the trash or if you have a spot in your yard gather them there to compost.

2. Take a look around and trim up any broken stems and other really dead or ugly looking foliage.  Leave any interesting seed heads and other foliage from your perennials and shrubs for winter interest and wildlife refuse.

3.  Empty the leftover foliage in any ceramic or terracotta pots and store them away so that they do not crack over the winter.

That’s it. Play some fun tunes or your favorite garden podcast as you go along and you’ll have it all done in no time.
