Test Tube Dried Flowers and Herbs
To make these beauties, simply create a paper funnel to spoon your dried flowers and herbs into. Here, I used five plants, but you can experiment with fewer or more.
The uses for this are many. They make great stocking stuffers. They are also nice for tying on top of a wrapped gift or a gift bag.
The flowers and herbs themselves can be used in a therapeutic bath spa treatment. Or if you purchase organic, they could be used in cooking. For example, you could sprinkle them in your salad. Another idea is rolling a soft cheese in the herbs or rimming a cocktail class with the flowers. The test tube layered flower and herb package is pretty alone by itself and would look great on display in many places in the home.
These would also make great inexpensive favors for a wedding or bridal shower.
Invite the girls over for a night of fun and creativity, over drinks and good conversation while making these easy and beautiful gifts.

I absolutely ADORE this idea. It's so unique and fun. I cannot wait to do this for some of my family members when the holiday season arrives. Visually stunning and practical. Going to start saving from my garden now so I'll be ready 🙂

Hi Angie,
So glad you like them. Any excuse to use fun packaging, right?
Jami
I love this cute idea, Patti! Using kitchen herbs and topping a kitchen tool or basket would be a fun way to use them, too.
Patti Estep
Hi Jami,
That's a perfect idea. I have many good cooks in my life as I'm sure many others do too that would love this. Thanks!
Shelly
Such a great idea. We grow a few different type of rose and I could dry them and make these as gifts. And the petals could be used in soaps, sugar scrubs, bath bombs, or even just sprinkled into the bath itself.
I hadn't ever thought of making these before, it such a great idea.

Hi Shelly,
Yes, your rose petals would look so beautiful in these test tubes and the smell would be wonderful for anyone who does not grow them.
Jeanne
Love these test tubes...your DIY is perfect...easy to do with great results. 🙂

Hi Jeanne,
So glad you like it. I always like something that isn't too hard to do and not horribly expensive to give out to many people at the holidays.

So pretty, Patti! And the perfect complement to my post. I bet most people who garden have a quick source of herbs and flowers right now! Time to go "shopping." 😉
Patti Estep
Hi Michelle,
I agree that our posts are a good complement and anyone who is growing herbs may just have more than they can handle right now. Time to put them to good use.
Diane
These are so pretty. I love all the creative ways you suggest to use them. And a work party to put them together sounds like a really fun way to socialize at the same time. Great gifting idea!

Hi Diane,
I definitely want to have a girl night out soon and these seem like something easy and quick for them to "make and take"

Simple, neat and creative... This is perfection, you could even slip in a bottle of essential oil to go with it. I'm thinking though a kitchen herb one would be really neat. Excellent gift idea Patti..

Hi Carole,
I love the way you always seem to come up with an added touch to my posts. They are always spot on too. Someday we need to team up in a joint venture. 😉
