Pressed Flower Candles: Easy and Beautiful

DIY pressed flower candles are super simple to make and so beautiful! This easy candle project tutorial will help you create a thoughtful gift for mom or something pretty for your own home.

Equipment

  • Old pot
  • Candle pitcher or empty coffe can
  • Scissors

Materials

  • 1 Candle at least 2 1/2 inches in diameter and not more than 6 inches high
  • Pressed Flowers And Leaves
  • Spray adhesive
  • Paraffin Wax 2 lbs
  • Twine or string
  • Waxed paper

Instructions

  • Spray your candle with the adhesive and place your floral material on.
  • Fill an old saucepan with 2 inches of water.
  • Chop the wax and place it in a candle pitcher or coffee can.
  • Place the wax pitcher or coffee can in the saucepan to melt the wax.
  • Once all the wax has melted, lower the candle into the wax and quickly remove it.
  • Tie a cord onto the wick to help with dipping.
  • Continue dipping the candle a few times to get the desired effect.
  • Set the candle on some waxed paper to dry.

Notes

Save money by pressing your own flowers in an old telephone book or flower press.
You could also use a paint brush and some glue or mod podge to adhere the flower petals to the candle instead of spray adhesive.
