Homemade Steak Seasoning Recipe

Use this flavorful steak seasoning on steaks, chicken, or pork before you set them on the grill for a great tasting meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Tablespoons Black Peppercorns or ground black pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons Kosher Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Onion Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Mustard Seed
  • 1 Tablespoon Coriander Seed
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons Paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon Dried Thyme
  • 2 Teaspoons Red Pepper Flakes

Instructions
 

  • Combine all the ingredients into a large plastic bag or use a spice mill.
  • If using a bag take something heavy like a wooden mallet and crush the larger spices such as peppercorns and seeds to grind them into smaller pieces.
  • Keep the spice mix in a glass jar or other well sealed container in the pantry away from heat.

Notes

Use this like a steak rub sprinkling the spice blend liberally on both sides of the steak and rubbing it all around.
Feel free to adjust the steak seasoning mix to your likes and needs. You can add herbs such as rosemary or thyme. Bring in some heat with smoked paprika or cayenne pepper.
