Sift together flour, cocoa, salt and baking powder in a mixing bowl and set aside.
In a separate large mixing bowl cream butter and brown sugar.
Add eggs and vanilla to the butter and sugar mixture and blend well.
Add half of the flour mixture to the wet ingredients mixture and mix well
Add the remaining flour mixture to the large bowl and mix until combined.
Pour brownie batter into the prepared baking dish.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes.
Cool, then cut into 16 squares.
Notes
You can use dark brown sugar too. It will give the brownies an extra molasses flavor.Feel free to stir in 1/2 cup of your favorite mix-ins: such as walnuts or chocolate chips to make this brownie recipe even better. Chunks of chocolate, dark chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and even butterscotch chips would be mighty tasty.
