DIY Witches Broom

Learn how to make a witches broom with branches and weeds from the backyard. This simple inexpensive craft is a great way to add a little Halloween fun to your fall decor.

Equipment

  • Pruners or scissors
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Materials

  • 1 Large branch
  • Weeds and/or Grasses
  • Twine

Instructions

  • Find a nice branch to use as the base of the broomstick.
  • Clean the branch removing any unwanted bumps or messy bark.
  • Gather stems of weeds or branches that are thin but also sturdy.
  • Strip the stems of all leaves and flowers.
  • Hot glue stems around the branch about 5 inches from the bottom.
  • Add the remaining stems around the glued stems until you reach an amount that looks good to you.
  • Wrap twine around the stems near the top gluing it into place.

Notes

Just be careful to identify any unknown plants or weeds as they may be poisonous. For example, giant hogweed is very poisonous to the touch of humans.
