– Whisk dry ingredients in one bowl. – In another cream butter & sugar.– Add eggs.– Add vanilla and sour cream.– Add flour mixture in thirds.– Fold in 1/2 of the cherries into the batter.
Line a loaf pan with parchment.– Pour 1/2 the batter into the pan.– Sprinkle on the chopped cherries.– Spread more cake batter over top.– Place the halved cherries on top.– Sprinkle with sugar.
– Bake for one hour or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.– Allow the cherry cake to cool on a wire rack.– Remove by pulling up the parchment paper.
