1.5 pounds black cherrries ~ 3 cups 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1 cup quick oats or whole 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup melted butter 1 stick
Wash and pit cherries.
Roughly cut pitted cherries.
Mix lemon juice with cherries
Spray an 8x8 baking dish with cooking spray.
Toss in cherries.
In a separate mixing bowl stir flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt together.
Then add in the melted butter and mix until well combined.
Pour the crisp topping evenly over the center of the cherries heaping in the middle and spreading outward.
Bake uncovered in a 350-degree oven for 40 minutes.
Cool and serve alone with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
