Equipment

  • Sewing Machine
  • Scissors
  • Pins
  • pinking shears

Materials

  • Red Ticking Stripe Fabric 1 yard will yield about 1 dozen bags
  • Cello bags for your treats
  • Various ribbon and decorations

Instructions

  • fold your fabric with right sides together so the fold will be the bottom of the bag. That way you only have to sew each side.
  • Cut the fabric slightly bigger than the bags you want to put inside. My cello bags were 4 inches wide by 7 inches tall. So I cut out pieces that were 6 inches by 10 inches.
  • Fold over the top, front, and back about 2 inches.
  • Sew a 1/4 inch seam on both sides.
  • Turn the bag right side out and fill with your cello treat bag.
  • Decorate with ribbons or natural twine, fresh greenery, or berries.

Notes

You can use fabric glue or stitch witchery to hold the side together instead of sewing.  In this case, fold under the raw edges of the sides and top to the wrong side. Place the glue or fusing material on half of each side. Then, fold over the other half and press into place.
