Strip the ornaments down to the foam base.

Cut pieces of your sweater to fit around the foam ball.

Cut up the side seam and trace a square large enough to cover the foam. 

Place the piece on the ball and sew up the side seam.

At the top and bottom stitch some basting stitches and gather them together.

Add a pretty red embroidery thread and stitch along the cable to create a star in the middle.

Add a ribbon for hanging.
