Brioche French Toast Bake

This Brioche baked French toast casserole makes a great offering to guests or family members for a special breakfast or brunch dish.

Ingredients
  

  • 10 slices Brioche Bread cubed
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups half & half
  • .5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
  • Place cubed brioche bread in the bottom.
  • In a large bowl whisk together the eggs, half & half, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes.
  • Set the casserole dish into the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Remove the casserole dish from the refrigerator and into the oven for 45 mins.
  • Remove the French toast bake pan from the oven and let cool slightly.
  • Dust the top with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup on the side.

Notes

Leftovers can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a day or two and reheated in the microwave.
You can substitute the Brioche with regular French bread or Challah bread.
You can also substitute the half and half with whole milk or heavy cream.
