    Fall Front Porch Decor

    by Patti Estep · Sep 21, 2022

    Front door fall decor

Be inspired by this colorful fall front door decor you can easily create in no time using existing items and a couple of DIYs.

Front door fall decor with mums, pumpkins and a leaf garland

It's that time of year. Fall decorating and the front porch is the first place I like to work on.

In addition, today I'm joining a group of talented bloggers in a Celebrate Fall Home Tours Blog Hop hosted by Leen of Sand Dollar Lane. All this week we will be sharing decor ideas from fall porches, entryways, kitchens, living rooms, and more.

If you are coming over from Our Crafty Mom, welcome! Michelle is from New England and has some great tips and easy ideas to get your home ready for fall.

    DIY Fall Front Porch Decorations

This year our front door has a simple fall swag that I made on a tobacco base. I also put together this easy fall leaf garland to frame the top of the doorway.

Bag of artificial fall leaves and two fall flower picks with a mini white pumpkin.

How to Make a Fall Leaf Garland

All you need is some artificial leaves, heavy wire, a couple of fall picks, and a mini pumpkin pick.

Thick black wire pushed through artificial fall leave. Hot glue gun attaching leaves to wire and several artificial fall leaves strung on a wire.
    1. Measure out two lengths of wire from the middle of the doorway out to the sides.
    2. Poke the wire through each leaf and thread them on the wire.
    3. Once they are in place use a little hot glue to attach each leaf to the wire.
DIY faux fall leave garlands on top of a door frame. A fall swag on the door.

    4. Attach the garland to the doorway using nails or hooks.

    5. Wire on the mini pumpkin and fall picks in the center.

End of summer flower pot with purple tradescantia and purple calibrachoa flowers. Second image shows pot with orange mums and faux pumpkins.

Next, I removed some of the end-of-season flowers from our planters and replaced them with orange mums and faux pumpkins. I kept the neutral green trailing plant and the pretty purple tradescantia. I think the purple foliage looks good with the orange flowers, don't you?

Bottom of fall front door with a planter on each side of door filled with orange mums, faux pumpkins and purple tradescantia.

A couple more pumpkins in neutral colors and basic black lanterns are scattered at the base of the planters.

Fall front door decorations including a dried flower fall swag, an artificial leaf garland in autumn colors, faux pumpkins, lanterns and a fall harvest sign.

The final touches include a wooden fall harvest sign on the right and a dark glass amber bottle filled with some pretty foliage. Welcome Fall!

Next up on the tour is the talented Michelle of Thistle Key Lane, with her classic vintage style. And listed below you will find links to all of the bloggers and their amazing fall posts for the entire week.

Happy fall, Patti! Your entryway looks lovely and very festive. We only have a front stoop, so I'm a big jealous of all your space. 😉 You really make the most of it. So pretty!!!

Love the idea of using fall leaves on the doorway, Patti. We do that at Christmas, but never thought to do it for Fall. Can’t wait to follow up your pumpkin and mum ideas.

Such a pretty fall front porch. Love the purple that you left in your planters from summer for the fall. The mix of flowers and pumpkins is perfect to welcome your guests. So fun touring together this week. Pinned.
