Learn how to make a fun craft stick puzzle with a special message that you can give to someone special in your life.

Most of my crafts are meant for adults but many of them work well for kids too. My kids are in their 20s but I do have a nephew that still likes to create things when he's over at our house.
This craft stick puzzle is one that I thought he would like and really it's a fun idea for anyone and any age.
You simply tape together a bunch of craft sticks. You can find these at the dollar store or anywhere they sell crafts. You could also use any size craft stick. This group is more of a popsicle stick size but the tongue depressor size would work well too.
Flip over the taped craft sticks and now you have a landscape for drawing.
I used some of my distressed sprays for a background because I'm always looking for an excuse to use them.
Then I wrote a message with a black sharpie pen on top.
This makes a great "secret message" for the recipient of the puzzle.
You could just use sharpies, markers, or paints of any kind. Think of it as a homemade card.
Once your masterpiece is complete remove the tape and place the sticks in an envelope to give to someone.
So instead of a card you are sending a message as a puzzle.
They will enjoy putting together the puzzle and seeing the secret message you have made for them.

Very clever - you could decoupage something in there too.

Good idea Sheila. Decoupage would work great on this project.

This is a fun idea - would be neat to stick in the mail to someone... I may do something like this for Christmas this year instead of a traditional card. I don't send out very many so it's easy enough to get creative and spend a little more time with each one. Great idea and wanted to wish you a Happy July 4th. Hugs - Carole

Thanks Carole. I know it's a simple one but I think it could be used in all kinds of ways. You could use your fabulous watercolors to make a scene and it would be a gift within a card. Happy 4th to you friend!
