Have a blast with this Halloween potion bottles DIY with free printable labels and glass bottles. It's an easy way to do a little decorating for Halloween with little expense and time.

Halloween is such a short season, I sometimes don't bother decorating for it much. However, over the years, I have had fun creating a touch of spooky in our home. This year, it's a set of creepy Halloween potion bottles for our foyer, but you can arrange and set them just about anywhere in the house.

Creating Halloween Potion Bottles
Gather dark amber and brown jars. If you don't have any or don't have enough, create your own amber-tinted bottles using old jars from the recycling bin.
Tinting Glass Jars and Bottles
1. Mix Mod Podge with food color (red and green) in a cup.
2. Spread a liberal amount of the mixture over the jar with a sponge brush.
3. Set the jar on a parchment-lined baking tray and bake it in the oven for 25 minutes at 200 degrees.
4. Repeat as necessary to get a darker look.
I ended up coating the jars with a couple of layers to get the look I wanted. I also tried adding some brown paint to one of them and spray-painted the lids brown. They all worked well for this project.
Plan out which labels you want to go on each jar.
You can print these fun labels by clicking on the image above. Play around with the custom print size to get the size you need.
I used brown craft printer paper for these labels. The paper is very sturdy, but Mod Podge or white glue worked well for attaching it to the bottle.
You can also try printing the labels on regular white paper and dying it with coffee or tea.
These DIY potion bottles add some fun Halloween decor for our entryway. After Halloween, I can remove them and add a few more pumpkins in their place until it's time to decorate for Christmas.
