Last weekend I was greeting by my lovely college aged daughter with an early birthday gift. She happened to be home for the weekend and went out and purchased some items from Hobby Lobby. The best part is that she wanted something that we could do together. So sweet. A simple Shepherd's Hook and some wired ivy, topped off with a few very pretty butterflies.
We had fun experimenting with different ways hang or wrap the ivy and place the butterflies. Even though the snow has just melted I was happy to find a place for it by the front entrance so that it can greet everyone as they approach the house.
Now I'm thinking about what I can also hanging from it. A couple of small flowering pots, a vase, a lantern?
One place I know I can find ideas for my shepherd's hook is at the Hometalk website. If you haven't heard of Hometalk you are in for a treat. It's a wonderful resource for home and garden ideas, DIY projects and so much more. A little like Pinterest but with more of a community feel and interaction. You can post your projects, ask questions, clip your favorites, comment and share to social media. Recently I put together a great board all about spring gardening. Click on the image and pop on over to Hometalk and check it out.
