I'm sure everyone reading this post can appreciate the need for a good night's sleep. As a child my mother gave us foam pillows, so that's what I sleep on. Also, I have allergy issues, so I cannot have any animal products, such as feathers, in my pillows. This is why I was intrigued by the idea of the handcrafted natural pillows from Brentwood Home.
Handcrafted Natural Pillows
Next month I will be working with a group of bloggers on a $100 room makeover challenge. I've decided my bedroom is in dire need of a makeover, and have been thinking about what I can do to spruce it up on a $100 budget. This event will start the first week in January so stay tuned.

So, when I received an offer to review the Sleep Wellness Bundle from Brentwoodhome.com, I thought it was time, and timely, to update our pillows.
Brentwood Home is a high quality, hand-crafted, online bedding essentials company from Los Angeles. They specialize eco-friendly products, such as their superior mattresses. Everything is made in their local factory in California, and can be delivered right to your door. They've been around for 30 years, so they have all the know-how to create wonderful products from design to manufacturing.
The Sleep Wellness Bundle from Brentwood Home includs 4 handcrafted natural pillows; 2 Helena pillows and 2 Carmel pillows. Both pillows are made with organic 100% cotton covers and do not contain any toxic chemicals or synthetic materials.
We've been using them for a couple of weeks now, and my husband says the Helena pillow is the best pillow he has ever slept on. He loves that he never feels like he has to fluff it through the night, and it always seems to be cool. I'm more of a fan of the Carmel pillow, which is much firmer, and more like the foam pillow I am used to. Either way they are both wonderful pillows and I'm so glad I don't have to worry about any allergic reactions. After all, we spend a good bit of our life sleeping, so why shouldn't we have good quality bedding products in our home.

My favorite type of pillow is a fluffy pillow that doesn't fall apart on impact. I have not replaced my pillows in over 7 years.
Patti Estep

I have more pillows I have purchased and then found they were not comfortable. I would like a firm pillow that does not need to be fluffed periodically. I also want it high enough to be comfortable on my next. these look like they could fit the bill.

Hello!!!?First and foremost, I would like to say thank you for sharing all of your great, thrifty, and creative ideas and recipes with us all!!!!! Secondly...the answers to the pillow question....my favorite pillow is ***a worn out, falling apart, travel pillow that goes around the neck. My best friend of 23 years had given to me as a gift (ABOUT 12 LONG YEARS AGO?!?) I HAD HONESTLY NEVER SEEN ONE BEFORE THAT TIME, AND THOUGHT IT WAS AN UGLY THING THAT LOOKED LIKE THE SHAPE OF THE TOILET SEAT, AND IT LOOKED UNCOMFORTABLE, I COULD NOT EVEN IMAGINE PUTTING THIS WEIRD LOOKING THING AROUND MY NECK AND FEELING COMFORTABLE!??I became chronically ill in the meantime, and over the years have gotten worse, Systemic Lupus invading my organs, Fibromyalgia, mixed connective tissue Disease, arthritis in the lower lumbar, Degenerative Disc disease. I FINALLY BROKE DOWN AND GAVE IT A TRY...NOW FEEL LIKE I CANT LIVE WITHOUT IT...BULGING DISCS IN MY NECK MAKE ME FEEL LIKE SOMEONE IS GRABBING THE BACK OF MY NECK AND WONT LET GO, AND I CANT SLEEP, ITS EXCRUCIATING!!!!? This pillow has been a true lifesaver for me, I bought other ones over the years...but none seemed to add up ( not memory foam ones, not memory beaded ones, just this plain old filled with fluff... worn out and now ugly... and washed too many times over the years travel pillow ...that's also now deformed because I had to sew the holes up and the material is so worn out!!!! Plus...I'm not sure there's any more that can take its place!?!?? I would DEFINITELY love to at least try these new pillows and get away from this thing, if there is something out there that's better??!!! I honestly do not know why I haven't just made a new one of my own, it doesn't seem hard...but no sewing machine, and my hands lock up?? MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!!!??????????????
Edye
My favorite type of pillow is firm, but not too hard! I haven't replaced my pillows in a long time.
Linda Gillette
I use a down pillow that I can shape into my short crook of my neck while my husband likes a much firmer down alternative pillow. I have had my pillow for years because I cannot find another like it. My husband we just replaced his. After reading your review I would b interested in knowing if these would work for us. I have spent a lot of money on various types of pillows that look like they would work but dont.
Lauren
I like supportive pillows that keep their shape, but are not overly stuffed. It has been years since I replaced my pillows.
Deborah
I like using foam pillows. I have to admit, I don't remember replaced my last pillow, so it's probably tome to do so.
Susan Hull
Foam is my favorite because that is what we can afford. The last time Walmart had a sale on pillows. Pretty poor excuse isn't it, Patty? Good luck with your bedroom make over. With a little imagination, you can do a lot with $100. Thank for being so kind and making this offer available to some lucky person.
Sandra L.
I sleep with two pillows for due to medical issues. A firm on bottom for support and a soft one on top because they are cozy. I replaced by top ones a year ago and they aren't worth the money I spent on them. These pillows look amazing and I can't wait to see your make over. Thanks for the chance to win.
Mary-the boondocks blog
Sleep is so important to all of us and having the right pillow can make a huge difference in the quality of our sleep. These pillows sure look like a dream.
Pam Brand
Hearing about these pillows makes want to go take a nap! But, I bet the nap would be more refreshing with a new pillow!
Karen Giasson
I haven't replaced my pillows in a while. My only preference is that they be soft.
Sheri Anderson
I grew up using a feather pillow and now use foam and it's been several years since I bought pillows so would be awesome to win, thanks!
Pat Schwab
I used to have a down pillow that was so old that my kids were throwing it and feathers went everywhere because the fabric was so thin. That was my favorite pillow and I have never found one that was just right.
Staci
My favorite type of pillow is a standard synthetic firm pillow. I don't really love them but I haven't found anything better. I've tried some pillow that sounded better (and were more natural) but they always went flat really fast.
Staci
And the last time I replaced it was around 3 years ago.
Leanne with divaofdiy.com
I have feather pillows. Big and fluffy are my favorite! It's been at least a couple years since I have changed them out! Would love some new ones!
Maria Brittis
Forgot to mention Brentwood is my favorite pillow!!

Merry Christmas.

I awake every morning with a sore neck. I really need new pillows and it would be wonderful to win these.
Meegan
I was just telling my husband I am ready for a new pillow. I would LOVE to win. Thanks for the giveaway!
Sheri Anderson
I grew up with a feather pillow but now I prefer foam, but would be really happy to get something new in a pillow as the one I use is way too old, several years, thanks!
Teresa
Best pillow I ever purchased was $5.00 from IKEA, but I'm looking for something better.
Denise Wright
I just bought a memory foam and I like it but my husband is SUPER picky about pillows. We even went pillow shopping and he couldn't find anything. Great post by the way! I've never heard of Brentwood Home ... maybe my picky husband will like their pillows!
Lory at Designthusiasm
Great post! I'm always on the lookout for great pillows as it makes such a difference!!
Debbie Manno
Truthfully I am still looking for my favorite pillow. I feel like goldi locks except I can't get it just right. Maybe this is it!
Tara @ Lehman Lane
I have never owned a "good" pillow, most of ours are from ikea or hand me downs from growing up ( should I admit that :). I have never had a pillow that I really like. Love the idea that these pillows are eco friendly and handcrafted, especially since its where you are laying your head at night :). Can't wait to see your $100 bedroom makeover! Have a great rest of your week, Tara
Helena van Heiningen
Grew up sleeping on a foam pillow and thought it was fantastic until I tried a fluffy pillow. I can't sleep now without a squishy pillow.
Jennifer Thelen
My favorite type of pillow has yet to be found! I'd like a pillow that doesn't flatten out or become lumpy after a few week's or after washing. I find that I end up buying new pillows several time's a year with the same results! I would love to find a pillow that holds shape, washes nicely and is allergen frendly.
Terri
It is amazing the difference a good pillow makes to the quality of sleep!
Faye Novick
I'd love to try the pillows. There are so many claims of the best pillow that it gets confusing.
Kathy Owen
I like a big fluffy pillow and it has been at least 2 years since I bought a new pillow. Would love to win
Nancyv
It's so hard to pick a good pillow shopping in a store! I usually choose cotton pillows. I'm currently shopping for new pillows now, it's been a long time since I've purchased one.
Ann Reynolds
Can't wait to see your makeover challenge. I'm not brave enough!
Lisa
The pillow situation around my house is pretty tragic. They all need to be replaced. Winning would be fantastical!
Florence Salmer
We replaced pillows about 2 years ago. I like a firmer memory foam pillow & hubby likes them fluffy. I hate the motel room pillows. It's interesting to read what people like in pillows! We're all so different!
Desiree Kelly
I had a kapok pillow and loved it, but it was destroyed in an apartment fire two years ago. It was pricy and I have not replaced it for that reason. A new one would be great!
I can't wait to see what your $100 makeover will look like.
Sandi
Would love to find comfirtable pillows. Just bought two new hypoallergenic ones about three months ago and they're just not working out, they flatten out too much during the night. Looking forward to the $100 bedroom makeover !
Patti
I find it hard to buy pillows that I really like. I've been waking up during the night with an aching neck so I know it's time to buy a different pillow. I like a pillow that's not too thick or too firm. My husband has one of those odd shaped pillows that was fairly expensive but it probably needs replaced. We probably should replace them more often than we do. The Brentwood Home pillows sound like ones we both would like. I look forward to your $100 bedroom makeover!
jemma
It is so important to replace pillows and I have a guest room that would welcome these new pillows.
What a fabulous opportunity to ring out the old and bring in the new!
Thank you,
Jemma
Judy Fisher
My husband and I both sleep on a temperpedic pillow but they are probably 2 years old.
Leslie Hoff
Like you, I'm an allergy sufferer but have always preferred the feel of down or down/feather blend pillows. However, I never considered the possibility of my round-the-clock/year allergy symptoms attributable to my pillows. Now I can't help but wonder if they have been the cause of the constant sinus and throat irritation all along! Foam pillows are generally too firm and unyielding for my comfort level but perhaps the Helena pillow you mention in your blog would be a solution. I would love to try it. As for your $100 bedroom makeover, I'm very anxious to see what ideas can help transform my blase bedroom into more of a special and welcoming haven on a tight budget. The room is large enough (16x14) to really vamp up, yet for some reason I don't quite know where to begin. Thanks so much for posting this blog. I will def have to pursue the pillows now!
Beth Stansell
ok this is so weird--I was just saying to my husband last night that after the first of the year ( when we have a bit more money hopefully!) , we need to get new pillows!!! That's crazy that you are having a pillow giveaway today!! Would love to try these out especially because they are made in USA and are all natural!! Thanks for sharing !
Nancy Harrelson
Always looking for the perfect pillow! Fingers crossed!
Donna Harvey
To tell you the truth I don't know when we bought new pillows. I know we both wake up with sore necks. My husband likes a medium pillow, and I think I need a pillow that's soft but keeps your neck straight. No more being so stiff it takes a half a day to move. That would be a real blessing.
Lu Kroelinger
These pillows sound comfy. I love fluffy pillows, we usually use down, but I would like to give these a try. Always looking for something that helps me get to sleep.
Carole @ Garden Up Green
Last year I got some micro fiber pillows at Costco and really like them. Holy cow did I say last year? Well there you apparently once a year but I do wash them once a month.
Melissa Stack
I replaced my pillow about a month ago. I generally replace my pillow about 3 times a year. I have a difficult time finding one that is comfortable. I usually buy a foam pillow.
Audrey Stewart
I could sure use these pillows. I can't wait to see what you bloggers do with only a $100 budget, and spruce up a room. I am really excited to see the before and after pictures. I love those.
