This fresh strawberry glazed pie recipe is super easy to make. Perfect for summer backyard BBQs, picnics, and other outdoor parties.

I saw a container of strawberry glaze in the grocery store, and it reminded me of this easy pie recipe many people made during the summer when I grew up.

I'm making it super easy by using a frozen pie shell. However, if you have a favorite homemade pie crust you like, by all means, use it. Or you can get creative and make or buy a graham cracker crust. You can also make a delicious pretzel crust similar to a strawberry pretzel salad.

In addition, you could make your own homemade strawberry glaze on the stovetop with berries, sugar, and cornstarch.

Ingredients for the strawberry glazed pie including a frozen pie shell, fresh strawberries and a container of strawberry glaze.

    Ingredients

    • 9-inch Frozen Pie Shell
    • Fresh Strawberries
    • Pre-made Strawberry Glaze

How to Make an Easy Strawberry Glazed Pie

Step 1. After you let the frozen pie crust thaw for about 20 minutes, prick the bottom and sides with a fork before baking it so it doesn't puff up.

    Strawberries cleaned and hulled.

Step 2. While the pie crust is baking and then cooling, wash and hull the strawberries by using a small knife to cut out the center stem area. Then, depending on how large the berries are, cut them in half or quarters. In fact, if you grow your own or can get your hands on ripe little strawberries, you can leave them whole.

Strawberries cut and layered into a pre-cooked pie crust.

Step 3. Fill the cooled pie crust with berries in a decorative manner.

Step 4. Spoon the glaze all over the berries. Make sure you get it down into all the holes and crevices.

Step 5. Chill the pie in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to set up.

Note: This pie is best served the same day, as the moisture from the berries eventually will seep into the crust and make it soggy.

Serve with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side for extra deliciousness. However, it looks and tastes so good on its own, you really do not need to add anything.
