This DIY sea glass candle holder can be made in less than an hour, giving you a beautiful handmade gift or some fun beachy decor.

I do love sea glass. This project is super simple but, in my opinion, turned out so nice. It would be a great group project to make with friends.

Originally I tried using E6000 glue, but the pieces wanted to slide all over. So I went with hot glue. I think if you use a glass votive inside instead of a straight on candle, this will be fine, as the outer glass won't get too hot and it will keep it clean for future use.

    Supplies

    • 1 Glue gun and glue sticks
    • 1 Small hammer optional
    • Clear glass vase votive holder (Dollar Tree)
    • Sea Glass pieces
A small round clear glass vase, and pieces of sea glass on the side in green, blue and white.

Making a Sea Glass Candle Holder

Step 1. - Clean the candle holder and the sea glass pieces. Often they are dusty when bought from the store, and the dust will keep the pieces from adhering properly.

Step 2. - Start gluing the pieces to the holder by placing some hot glue on each piece of sea glass, starting at the top edge. Use something heavy on the side to support the candle holder and keep it still as you work.

Step 3. Break up some of the sea glass with a hammer to fill in small holes.
