A great pick-me-up during this dreary winter weather is a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers for your home. Here's an easy way to arrange them. The best part is I only spent $20 at the grocery store. Depending on your store, or the time of year, you could probably get by with spending even less.
Start with choosing a main flower or two that you like. Next, choose a filler. Then see if they have something that has interesting texture or maybe something that will cascade or drape over the vase.
Place a packet of plant food that came with the flowers and fill your vase about 1/3 of the way. Next tape the vase leaving 1/2 - 1 inch holes to help the flowers stay in place.
Start adding your focal flowers, turning the vase to view all sides.
Add in your filler material.
Finally, add in your texture or cascading material.
Continue filling up your vase with water and you have a beautiful centerpiece to look at instead of the gray sludge outside, all at a bargain price.
