My friend Carole West from Garden Up Green was the brains behind this collaboration. She wanted to share her love of DIY and gift giving with a few other bloggers and I quickly jumped on board.
Carole is well skilled at woodworking and stencil art. Don't worry she is also excellent showing you exactly how to create these festive projects on your own.
This particular post is all about making lovely stenciled towels that pair well with beautiful gift boxes. Stop by and see exactly how you can make one or all three of these unique handmade creative gifts. (click on the link below the image)
Christmas Morning Gift Baskets
Next, we have this wonderful heartfelt idea from CD from CD's Country Living.

CD is a great home cook with a huge arsenal of those tried and true recipes that everyone loves. There is plenty of inspiration here to get your creative juices going to make the most thoughtful Christmas baskets ever.
Now on with my easy DIY handmade Christmas gift tutorial.
Flower & Herb Candle Holder
Have you tried Oui yogurt? You can buy them in the grocery store for less than $2 and once you eat the yogurt you are left with these adorable little glass jars.
If you don't want to use the yogurt jars any glass votive or tea light will work.
Supplies
- Oui yogurt jars (or other small glass votive candle holders)
- White glue
- Painters tape
- Flower Petals & Herbs ( rose petals
, hibiscus petals
, peppermint
)
- Glitter
This first one was made by taping off the top and adding a tape star in the middle with painter's tape.
Simply brush on a healthy coat of white glue and gently roll the jar in a bowl of dried flowers or herbs.
Then gently peel off the star and the tape.
This green dried peppermint leaf looks so pretty during the holidays.
Here's one with hibiscus flowers on the top. After they have had a chance to set you can remove the tape, apply more glue to the bottom and dip it into another herb or flower mix.
Other Flowers and Herbs to Use:
Calendula
Lavender
Cornflowers
Larkspur
Delphinium
Here's a trio of flower and herb candle holders aglow with tea lights.
The one on the right is rose petals with white glitter. I just couldn't resist adding a bit of bling.
Super simple and I think the results are so lovely.
The perfect little something to say Thank You, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays or whatever your wish is to someone special in your life.

Thank you for your kind words, this was a lot of fun and a neat way to kick off Christmas with some of my favorite friends. I love this project, each one is unique and the star is my favorite love all that green. I need to hunt down that yogurt! Homemade gifts are the best and you deliver perfectly.

Patti,
I absolutely LOVE these! I've been collecting those little jars, just waiting for a good project to use them in. The yogurt is just heavenly, isn't it??? And the jars are too cute to toss out, so I decided to hang onto them and now I'm so glad I did! I'll be copying this for sure this season! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Karen. I so agree. The yogurt is yummy and the jar is a great bonus. I already have another idea for them this spring or summer.

Thank you for the kind words, Patti! Teaming up with you gals is always so much fun! I love your sweet candle holders! I'm all about the bling so of course, the rose and glitter one is my favorite!
