Fall Sunflower Wreath

This fall sunflower wreath is easy to create with artificial sunflowers, a small pumpkin, and leftover foliage from previous projects.

Don't you love seeing fields of sunflowers in late summer and early fall? I thought I'd decorate my front porch for fall using sunflowers and a few pumpkins.

For this project, I was able to use an old grapevine base and artificial florals that I already had at home for this project. I encourage you to see what you have lying around to save on time and money.

Especially when it comes to foliage, how many times have you cut off the flower heads and ended up with lots of stems and leaves leftover?

Of course, you can buy any or all of these items at a craft store. You could also purchase just a few to supplement what you already have. In addition, if you have grapevines growing around your property, you can easily make a grapevine wreath for the base.

Making a Fall Sunflower Wreath

Step 1. Start with a grapevine wreath base. I used this older one and left some of the greenery on it.

Step 2. Paint a small skewer brown and push it into a small pumpkin on the bottom.

Step 3. Use some hot glue on the other end of the skewer to attach the pumpkin to the grapevine wreath. I wanted it to look like the pumpkin was sitting nested into the side, bottom area. (You can create it any way you like)

Note: If you don't have a skewer, you can use a small branch or skip it and add lots of hot glue to the bottom of the pumpkin.

Step 4. Lean the wreath on something to make it easier to work on and to be able to see how it will look when it's hanging.

Start with the larger sunflowers, then fill in with foliage and smaller flowers. I only covered half of the wreath. I like this look; however, you could certainly cover the entire wreath.

Step 5. Lean or hang the wreath and see where you may want to tweak it. Move some things or add a little more.

Hang your wreath on the front door for all who visit to enjoy.

Here's the rest of the porch all decked out for fall. This will be good until just after Thanksgiving, when it will be time to switch it all up for Christmas.
