Learn how to make this simple mini fabric wallet, that will fit nicely inside your small, sleek evening bag.
I don't know about you, but I usually carry around a multi-purpose wallet that has cash, cards, coins, and my keys on it. Needless to say this bulky business does not work well for an evening out, when you only want to carry a small bag or wristlet.
Thus the inspiration to for this easy diy mini fabric wallet.

Mini Fabric Wallet Tutorial
Start with three pieces of fabric.
- 1 Main piece - 8.5 inches square
- 2 Pocket pieces - 3.25 inches by 8.5 inches (I chose to use two different fabrics, but that is totally up to you)
Top stitch one edge of each pocket piece.
Place on top of the pockets pieces with the topstitched edge in the middle of the main piece as shown. Fold 1 inch under the bottom edge and sew across the bottom.
Next line up the other pocket with the bottom edge and sew in the middle, from the top edge of the second pocket to the bottom.
Finally, fold over the main piece to match the bottom edge and sew 1/4 inch all around, leaving a small opening for turning.
Trim edges and cut corners.
Turn right side out. Hand stitch the opening closed. Press.
Now you have the perfect little mini fabric wallet to stash some cash, id, and credit cards. This will easily fit into most small evening bags, and possibly your pocket.
If you want to add a little substance, consider using some iron-on vinyl to the outside of the main piece, or all the pieces. Just like I did on the DIY luggage tag project.

Great idea, this pattern is nice and bright. Love bright colors year round they just make me happy. I carry a small clutch where I dump everything in and try to squeeze my phone into but it's a tight fit. This is smart!

Thanks Carole. I had a couple of evening events recently (weddings etc) and so I needed something like this, and thought, why not make one and blog about it. Glad you liked it.
