This napkin decoupage on fabric with plastic wrap trick is a fun and inexpensive way to decorate a table runner for fall.

I saw this neat trick on Instagram where you can take a napkin and cover it with plastic wrap. Then you use an iron to press it onto fabric, making the plastic melt and creating a decal.
I decided to try it on a plain table runner with some pretty pumpkin napkins for fall, but you can do this with any napkin on any fabric.
Note: You can probably spot clean this runner, but I don't think you will be able to wash it in a washing machine.

Decorating a Table Runner with Napkins
Step 1. Cut out the area of the napkin you want to use. This took me quite a bit of time, as I ended up with about 16 for my table runner.

Step 2. Separate the napkin layers. Then, using only the top layer of the napkin, set it on plastic wrap.

Step 3. Fold the bottom up to sandwich the napkin in plastic. Trim excess plastic with scissors.

Step 4. Set the napkin on the area you want to glue it to.

Step 5. Place parchment paper under the fabric and on top of the napkin. Then use a medium to hot iron to melt the plastic and adhere the napkin to the fabric.

Lift up the edge to see if it has adhered to the fabric well. If not, place the parchment back down and try pressing with the iron again.

Pretty cool, huh?

Repeat the process as many times as you like.

Though it does take some time, this method works pretty well and is a fun, inexpensive way to decorate a table runner for fall.
