How to Make a Lemon Wreath
In this post, I'll show you how to make a lemon wreath with just a few supplies.
Cut Up Your Stems and Bushes
Start by cutting up your florals. You want to be able to work with smaller, more manageable sections of your floral stems and bunches. For example, these lemon stems are quite large and hold about six lemons, so I cut them up into three sections about 6-8 inches long.
Arrange the Lemons on the Wreath
Before you adhere the cut pieces to the wreath, lay them out over the top of the wreath to see what looks best.
You want good coverage and equal spacing. I like to have some facing inward as well as some on the outside.
Also, decide which part of the wreath will be the top and bottom, and work with it in that position.
Glue the Lemons to the Wreath
Use a generous amount of hot glue on the tip of each stem and then stick the branch into the wreath in the area you planned.
Tip: You could take a photo of the layout for reference in case you forget how you wanted the pieces to fall.
Add Accent Pieces & Filler
For this lemon wreath tutorial, I used small white flower buds as the accent pieces. They remind me of my Dwarf Meyer Lemon Tree when it's in bloom.
Then fill in the wreath with green foliage pieces.
Assess and Complete
Hang or set the wreath up so you can assess the entire look. Consider adding more accents or filler for bare spots. You can also add more glue to hold down a few individual leaves if necessary.
Here's the finished wreath on one of our interior doors, so you can see what it might look like on a light colored door.
I love the way the bright yellow lemons on this wreath bring a feeling of sunshine to our front door. You could add a pretty bow to the top with some ribbon, but I don't think it needs it.
