Two scoops of Oreo ice cream in a bowl over a loaf pan filled with the same ice cream.

This 3 ingredient Oreo ice cream recipe is so simple and delicious. The worst part is waiting for this no churn ice cream recipe to harden.

White bowl with two scoops of Oreo ice cream.

Cookies and cream ice cream. What a delicious ice cream flavor. Why not make your own? Have you tried making ice cream with whipping cream and sweetened condensed milk? It's really easy. I added Oreos to my recipe but you could just add a little vanilla extract or other cookies or candies.

Ingredients for Oreo ice cream including Oreo cookies, sweetened condensed milk, and heavy whipping cream.

    What You'll Need

    • hand mixer or stand electric mixer
    • rubber spatula
    • sharp knife
    • rolling Pin
    • mixing bowl
    • loaf pan
    • 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk
    • 2.5 cups heavy whipping cream
    • 1 cup Oreo cookies

That's right, no ice cream machine. You don't need it. You could even get away with a wire whisk instead of a mixer but your arm would be awfully tired.

A large knife cutting Oreo cookies in half.

I cut a few cookies in half for aesthetic appeal but in hindsight it wasn't necessary.

A rolling pin crushing Oreo cookies in a plastic bag.

The rest were crushed in a plastic bag with a rolling pin. You could use anything to crush them. Get out some aggression and smash them with your fists if you want.

A hand mixer beating heavy whipping cream.

How to Make No Churn Oreo Ice Cream

Start by whipping heavy cream. This took me about 9 minutes with my hand mixer. If you have a stand mixer you could set it and walk away.

Whipped cream in a large blue bowl.

Once it gets to a nice thick cream "stiff peaks" you are ready for the next step.

Folding sweetened condensed milk into whipped cream.

Fold in a can of sweetened condensed milk with a rubber spatula. Don't mix it too much.

Folding in crushed Oreo cookies into cream and milk mixture.

Then add your crushed up cookies. Again, fold them in until they are just mixed together.

Homemade Oreo ice cream in a loaf pan.

Spread the ice cream mixture into a loaf pan and top with the half cookies. You could also reserve some of the crushed cookies for the top.

Oreo ice cream in a loaf pan with plastic wrap on top.

Next, cover with plastic making sure to press gently into the cream mixture.

Freeze for at least 4 hours. The longer you freeze it the hard it will get.

A spoon taking a bite of homemade Oreo ice cream from a dish.

It was very creamy and delicious. It reminded me of some of the frozen custard places. Not an exact replica of traditional ice cream but for the time and effort I give it an A+.

    • 2.5 cups heavy whipping cream
    • 1 cup Oreo cookies 3 bags of minis

    Instructions

    • Cut some of the oreo cookies in half with a large butcher's knife. (optional)
    • Place the remaining cookies in a plastic bag and crush them slightly with a rolling pin.

    Notes

It took me about 9 minutes to whip the cream using a hand mixer. A stand mixer might make this time much quicker or at least you can walk away from it.
You can add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to make a delicious vanilla ice cream.
Feel free to swap out the Oreo cookies for your favorite cookies or candies.
Use this recipe to make ice cream sandwiches or sundaes with chocolate syrup.
This ice cream can be stored in a covered freezer container for about 1 week.
