Learn how to make this DIY easy fall wreath for your front door. It's made with a grapevine base and beautiful shades of autumn artificial foliage and berries.

Fall wreath with grapevines and artificial foliage and berries.

I love to work with grapevine wreaths. This fall I'm using greens and autumnal colors to create a large beautiful wreath for our front door.

    Supplies

    • 18-inch Grapevine Wreath Form
    • Various Green Leaf Foliage
    • Orange, Red, or Brown Foliage
    • Yellow Flowers
    • Red/Orange Berries
    • Wire Cutters

Note: I purchased most of these items from craft stores. However, you could make your own grapevine wreath from wild vines in your yard. Or, you may have an old wreath and artificial florals that you can repurpose for this project.

How to Make a Fall Wreath

Step 1. - Start with green colored foliage in different sizes and shades. This will give you a nice base and a full, lush wreath.

A few green faux leaves in a grapevine wreath.

Step 2. - Cut up each floral in smaller sections then place them into the grapevine wreath at equal intervals.

Tip: Think of the wreath as a clock. If you have four pieces of a particular leaf then place one at 12, one at 3, one at 6, and one at 9. The next set can be placed in the center of the last set. Using the clock example again, four pieces can be placed between 1 and 2, 4 and 5, 7 and 8, 10 and 11.

Continue with more greenery, each time spacing the stems securely into the wreath distributed evenly, and offset from the previous foliage.

Green grasses add to other greens on a grapevine wreath.

The greens add a nice base to any season and help fill out the wreath.

Partially complete fall wreath with greens and some rust colored foliage stems.

Step 3. - Next, add in some seasonal foliage. In this case, I have some pretty rust-colored small faux fall leaves that are perfect for this wreath.

    Artificial gold yarrow stems.

These artificial yarrow flowers are a great choice for fall too and add light to the wreath.

Orange red large faux berries cut up with wire cutters.

Step 4. Finish with large berries. Here, I've cut up the berry stems. These are a red-orange color. But you could use faux orange berries such as bittersweet or perhaps cream-colored berries for more light.

Finally, hang your wreath on your front porch or front door and stand back to examine your work. Since you haven't used glue, you can easily move things around to make the perfect wreath.

    Make It Permanent

If desired take a photo then disassemble the wreath and use a hot glue gun to place each piece back for a permanent solution. Or, use floral wire pieces on each stem and twist them around the grapevines.

    Other Options

You can also add other fall decorations as accents to the wreath such as pinecones, acorns, mini pumpkins, and a bow.

If you are like me you like hanging a new door decoration each season, whether it's a wreath, basket, or welcoming sign. This pretty fall DIY wreath will certainly do the trick.

Did you use real greenery? If so, does it die/wilt?
